Marines Changing Their Slogan
Since 1977, it's been "The Few, The Proud, The Marines". And that is going to change soon.
The Marines are gearing up to change their recruiting slogan. The current one did a good job distinguishing the Marines as a unique branch of the military.
Yes, the Marines will remain as an elite fighting force. But they want the new slogan to tell why they exist and what they do.
We don't know what the new slogan will be. But we do know it will be about fight.
Three categories of fight to be exact. Fighting self-doubt to become a Marine, fighting the nation’s battles and fighting for what’s right in our communities.
The new slogan is expected to be out by spring. For many people, the current one has been in place forever. But actually there have been several different ones.
The Marines have been known for their recruiting slogans for around 100 years. Here are a few that maybe you remember:
- "If Everybody Could Get In The Marines, It Wouldn't Be The Marines"
- “We’re Looking for a Few Good Men"
- "Tell That To The Marines"
- "The Marine Corps Builds Men"
- “The Change is Forever"
