SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — A Sioux Falls man convicted of trafficking drugs in the city has been sentenced to more than seven years in prison.

Fifty-three-year-old Fred Davis Jr. was accused of bringing marijuana and other drugs from Colorado to Sioux Falls. He was caught when a Highway Patrol trooper stopped him for speeding and found cocaine, methamphetamine and marijuana in the car, along with about $5,000 in cash.

Authorities with a search warrant also found more drugs, guns and a large amount of cash at Davis' home.

The Argus Leader reports that Davis was sentenced Monday to seven years and three months in federal prison. U.S. District Judge Karen Schreier said it's rare to see a dealer involved in more than one drug.
