These Are Now Minnesota’s Six ‘Million Dollar’ Cities
If you live in one of these six Minnesota cities, congratulations-- you're a millionaire!
Well, maybe YOU aren't necessarily a millionaire, but if you live in one of these six Minnesota cities, your house is probably a millionaire... because according to new figures, the average home price in these six cities tops one million dollars.
Yeah, that's pretty expensive, isn't it? I mean, if you watch any of those real estate shows on HGTV like House Hunters (which my wife and I do ALL. THE. TIME.) you routinely see couples have a budget of over a million dollars (which seems like they're inflating things a bit, if you ask me) but here in the North Star State it's not as common.

For comparison, Zillow says in Minnesota's third-largest city of Rochester, average home prices vary from neighborhood to neighborhood (you can check out the 10 Most Expensive Neighborhoods in the Med City HERE), but overall are valued at $322,326-- up 3.2 percent from 2023 but still quite a bit less than a million dollars.
As recently as 2021, Minnesota was already home to four 'million dollar' cities. But now, Axios Twin Cities says two more cities have been added to the list, bringing the total to six 'millionaire cities' here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes where home prices have hit that magical six-figure mark.
All six locations are in the Twin Cities metro. Previous 'million dollar' cities, according to Zillow, included Minnetonka Beach, on Lake Minnetonka. Zillow says It has an average home price is $2,002.027, the highest average price in the Gopher State, but down 1.6 percent from 2023.
Then there's the Greenwood neighborhood, also on Lake Minnetonka, where Zillow says the average home price is $1,44,824, up 1.1 percent from 2023.
Or, the city of Woodland, also on Lake Minnetonka, near Wayzata, where the average price is $1,655.673, a healthy amount, to be sure, but one that's down 1.6 percent from a year ago.
There's also Sunfish Lake, between I-494 and Minnesota Highway-62 near Mendota Heights, where Zillow says the average home price is now $1,077,539, up 1.4 percent from 2023.
Joining the list in 2024, according to Axios Twin Cities, are Orono-- also located on Lake Minnetonka in Hennepin County, where Zillow says average home prices are $1,043,372, up 2.9 percent from a year ago.
And rounding out the 'million dollar' cities list in Minnesota in 2024 is Medicine Lake, also conveniently located along Lake Minnetonka, where Zillow says average home prices are now %1,071,119.
Of course, you don't have to live on Lake Minnetonka in the Twin Cities to find million-dollar homes. Keep scrolling to see some fabulous homes worth at least a million dollars, all of which are located across other parts of Minnesota.
