NASCAR's top circuit is finally back in the state of Iowa. The Iowa Corn 350 will take place on Sunday at the Iowa Speedway in Newton.

This isn't the first top-level NASCAR race to be held in the state of Iowa, but it's been a while! The Des Moines Register reports that the last time NASCAR's top circuit raced in the state was in 1953. 71 years ago. That race was held on a dirt track in Davenport. This weekend's race will be held at the Iowa Speedway in Newton, Iowa. And race fans in the state are lucky it is here.

The Register reports that it took a bit of luck for top-level NASCAR competition to return to the state. A decision was made to remodel the track at the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California. With an opening on the schedule, the Iowa Speedway was available. It also doesn't hurt that NASCAR owns the Iowa track. While officials aren't sure if this is a one-of-a-kind race, or if NASCAR will be back, here is everything you need to know about a big racing weekend in Iowa!
