Local comedy fans have something big to look forward to in 2027.

Jay Leno, stand-up legend and host of The Tonight Show for more than 20 years, is coming to Grand Falls Casino and Golf Resort in Larchwood, Iowa, on Sunday, February 21st at 7:00 PM.

The New Rochelle, New York native began doing stand-up comedy shortly after graduating from college in 1973.

Four years later, he made his first appearance on The Tonight Show on March 2, 1977. By 1986, he was Johnny Carson's permanent guest host and later succeeded Carson as the host of the show in 1992.

From 1992 to 2009, Leno ruled as the #1 late-night host in America, but in late 2009 he was moved to an earlier time slot to make way for Conan O'Brien to take over as host of The Tonight Show. That move lasted six months before Leno returned as host in March of 2010.

Leno continued to host until Jimmy Fallon took over in February 2014.

The two constants in Leno's life have been stand-up comedy and cars. At age 76, he still does 175 shows a year and still found time to host Jay Leno's Garage for seven seasons from 2015 to 2022, showcasing more than 180 cars and 160 motorcycles in his car collection.

Tickets for the Grand Falls Casino and Golf Resort show go on sale to the general public Friday (October 9th) at 10:00 AM.
