You've heard of March Madness, which is all about basketball. You've heard of Mash Madness, which is a Sioux Falls celebration of all things beverage (including coffee for the first time this year).

But Park Madness?

That is something new to a lot of us. Dakota News Now is reporting that the Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation Department has put together a seeded competition among our parks and is asking Sioux Falls residents to vote for their favorites.

The Sioux Falls Parks and Rec Department kicked off the First Annual Pak Madness on Monday, March 3, and the tournament will continue through March 26.

According to Dakota News Now, you can vote for your favorite parks on a weekly basis:

  • First Round: March 3-6
  • Second Round: March 7-10
  • Third Round: March 11-14 
  • Elite 8: March 15-18
  • Final Four: March 19-22
  • Championship Round: March 23-26

Voting is open right now on the city's website with 32 head-to-head matchups among our 64 city parks.
