
Sioux Falls Firefighters Respond to Late-Night Blaze
Sioux Falls fire crews were dispatched at approximately 12:15 a.m. Monday, and arrived on scene to find visible smoke and flames coming through the roof of the structure.
In the early morning hours of Monday, March 30, 2026, Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire in the 1900 block of South Dorothy Avenue.
The fire was successfully extinguished within approximately 20 minutes. After knocking down the main body of the fire, crews remained on scene for several hours conducting overhaul operations and checking for any remaining hot spots to ensure the fire was fully contained.
No additional details about injuries or damage have been released at this time.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. A total of five fire units, one support unit, and 20 personnel from Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded to the incident.
They were assisted on scene by Metro Communications, Patient Care EMS, and the Sioux Falls Police Department.
