Don’t look now, but Sioux Falls is about to be reunited with one of its most beloved comfort-food restaurants, and just in time to expand your holiday waistline.

Rosie’s Cafe is making a triumphant comeback to the Sioux Empire after nearly six months of silence.

According to Dakota News Now, Rosie’s plans to welcome hungry Sioux Falls foodies back through its doors in early December.

For more than 41 years, Rosie’s wasn’t just a restaurant; it was practically a rite of passage. The place built up a loyal, borderline-cult following thanks to its legendary comfort-food lineup.

If you ever ate at Rosie’s, chances are you’ve tackled their Country Fried Steak, famous cheeseburgers, biscuits and gravy, baked chicken, homemade pies, or maybe even one of their more… creative breakfast inventions, like the “pancake sandwich.”

That is a HEAP of good eating right there.

The best part? Dakota News Now says all those fan-favorite dishes are coming back.

Rosie’s will reopen under new ownership, as longtime friends Tom Hinrichs and Barry Selland join forces to lead what they’re calling the “Next Generation” of Rosie’s.

Wondering about the menu?

Relax. The classics are returning, but the new owners plan to throw in a few fresh twists while keeping everything true to the Rosie’s you remember and maybe still have dreams about at night.

If you recall, the original Rosie’s Cafe closed in May of 2025, and the longtime location was put up for sale shortly after. Nearly six months later, Hinrichs and Selland have swooped in, spatulas at the ready, determined to serve up decades more of legendary Rosie’s memories.

So go ahead and start working up an appetite. All those delectable Rosie’s dishes will be back in early December at the familiar Madison Street location.

Bon appetit!
