Feeding South Dakota Announces Thanksgiving Meal Giveaway

Thanksgiving is a time of year that is specifically dedicated to gratitude. But for many families across South Dakota, this time of year is just another situation where hunger leaves little to be grateful for.

That is where the amazing Feeding South Dakota organization and its donors and volunteers come in. This year Feeding South Dakota is planning to distribute enough groceries across the state to provide 6,000 Thanksgiving meals.

Feeding South Dakota, the state’s largest hunger relief organization, will provide groceries for 1500 meals here in Sioux Falls. They'll give the same number in Rapid City and the rest of the groceries will be distributed to other Feeding South Dakota Agency partners in other South Dakota communities.

The drive-through giveaway here in Sioux Falls will take place on Saturday, November 18 from 8 to 10 AM at the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds. Each family will receive one meal with a limit of two families served per vehicle. No pre-registration, qualification, or sign-up is needed.
