Guy Clark Tribute Concert Planned for Nashville
Just about a month after the loss of Guy Clark, some of country music’s biggest living legends will assemble in Nashville to honor the life and legacy of the inimitable singer-songwriter.
This summer, many of Clark’s closest friends will gather at the Ryman Auditorium to celebrate his life’s work. According to the Tennesseean, Rodney Crowell, Emmylou Harris, Vince Gill and Jack Ingram -- among other heavy-hitters -- will perform together at the Ryman on Aug. 16 to pay tribute to Clark’s incredible musical legacy.
Since Clark’s death on May 17, details have emerged that his ashes will be incorporated into a sculpture created by Santa Fe-based artist Terry Allen. According to Clark’s biographer, he originally wanted his ashes scattered “south of the Red River,” but later asked that his remains be shipped to Allen to produce a sculpture.
Tickets for the Guy Clark tribute at the Ryman Auditorium go on sale June 17 at noon. Score yours via Ticketmaster.
