Dierks Bentley Executive Producing New TV Comedy Series for Fox
Dierks Bentley has been all over the map this year, geographically as well as professionally. In addition to launching his own music festival and hitting the road for his surprise-packed 2018 Mountain High Tour, he has been announced as the executive producer for a new television comedy show, Variety reports.
Set at a bar in Nashville, the still-untitled single-camera scripted TV comedy will follow a conglomerate of singers and songwriters through the ups and downs of trying to make in big in Music City, chronicling their pitfalls and romances along the way. The series originates from writer and producer Jack Burditt, the creator of Last Man Standing and Modern Family, among other recent hit comedies.
The new show will be produced by 20th Century Fox Television and is committed for a pilot on the Fox network, though an air date has not yet been announced. In addition to Bentley, Mary Hilliard Harrington, his manager, will be an executive producer on the series.
Bentley recently wrapped up his summer tour at the Hollywood Bowl in LA. He's nominated for Musical Event, Male Vocalist and Album of the Year at the 2018 CMA Awards, which will take place at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on Nov. 14, and his newest studio album, The Mountain, debuted at No. 1 earlier this year.
