DELMONT, S.D. (AP) — Members of the tornado-destroyed Zion Lutheran Church in Delmont have held a groundbreaking event for a new church that's set to go up.

Pastor Brian Bucklew tells KSFY-TV that he expects the project to be finished by Easter. He says losing the church was heartbreaking and that church members are happy to move forward.

Bucklew says the old church's loss has "been very hard."

The congregation's century-old church was destroyed by a May 2015 tornado that injured nine people and damaged or destroyed dozens of structures.
