Incredible and massive storms rocked South Dakota, Iowa, and Minnesota on Monday night, July 28th.

Wind gusts between 70 to 100 miles per hour rattled the Sioux Empire, tornadoes touched down in multiple rural areas, and big lightning shows burst in the skies. These storms were unbelievable, and one nationwide storm chaser was there to capture the peak of the storms in South Dakota.

Well-known Meteorologist and Storm Chaser Reed Timmer made his way to South Dakota on Monday to witness historic storms in the area.

Who is Reed Timmer, and why did he come to South Dakota?

Reed Timmer is known for the television show Storm Chasers on the Discovery Channel. He also has a major social media following and 1.4 million subscribers on YouTube alone. Reed intercepts powerful storms to collect scientific data on each mind-blowing storm he encounters. Oh...in addition to his social media presence, Reed has his Ph.D. in meteorology from the University of Oklahoma.

Reed Timmer followed this storm throughout the state of South Dakota. He documented the strong winds, tornadoes, large hail, and even a wildfire! This wildlife was spotted by Reed just south of the Chamberlain. Reed explains in a Facebook post that this wildlife started after a lightning strike hit a field.

Reed also shot a crazy video of a massive tornado near Gregory, South Dakota. He shared this big storm in a Facebook post.
