In my work I have a lot of music come across my desk. Now, admittedly, they don't come across my desk like they did in the 'old day's'. No, back then we'd get packages in the mail, and we'd sort through the 45's and the albums. (Don't know what a '45' is? Don't know what an 'A' side and a 'B' side is? OK, I'm perhaps just a wee bit older than you.)

Now they come digitally for the most part. I don't know how it all works, but thankfully there's a person here at the 'ol Radio Ranch that told me 'Here, just click this button and then that button and the music will!'

And over the past several years there's basically two kinds of music that come across my desk. Most of it is what I'd call 'Please believe this is country even though it's rock or rap or crap'. Then, once in a while there's something that's what I call 'Real unashamed honest to good real country music'.

Let me introduce you to one of those guys. His name is Curtis Grimes.

When I cam across 'From Where I'm Standing', it was one of those song's that made me stop what I was working on, set down my Grain Belt Longneck (joking boss, joking) and listen. Wow, what a great new country song, and it sounds great between George and George, Waylon and Willie and all the Hank's!

So who is this guy, this Curtis Grimes?

I did my exhaustive research, which is translated into the word 'Google'. I went to Curtis' website and found out he's a Texas lad. Now, that was a shock...a great real country artist from Texas! When I read he grew up on Strait and Jackson, it made sense. Of course this guy is real fact he he is Undeniably Country, the title of his album.

So the good news is, yes folks, there is some great new country music being recorded and released, by folks like Marcus Lindsey, Shane Owens, Ed Montana and others.

Now, add Curtis Grimes to that list. I can't wait to see what the next months and years holds for this young artist. As for me, I'll be looking forward to more Curtis Grimes country!
