Chris Stapleton Will Be Musical Guest on Saturday Night Live

Some fans of country music might have recognized his name, while others might have found themselves asking, "who is this guy, anyway"? Many fans give credit to the 49th annual CMA awards as the first time they were introduced to Chris Stapleton. Sweeping all three categories that he received nominations for, Chris Stapleton is now a name that is easily recognized.

Whether you are an old-school Chris Stapleton fan or one of those that "saw the light" during the CMAs, make plans to stay up late to watch NBC's Saturday Night Live (SNL).

NBC has announced that Chris Stapleton will be the musical guest on the January 16 episode of Saturday Night Live. Adam Driver will host SNL's first new show of 2016.

Stapleton is just one of many country stars to appear on SNL. Blake Shelton was host and musical guest in January of 2015. Others that have hosted and performed on SNL include Taylor Swift, Garth Brooks, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, Tim McGraw and Kris Kristofferson.

Stapleton won Male Vocalist of the Year, New Artist of the Year and his album Traveller picked up the award for Album of the Year during the 49th annual CMA awards.
