A smart stock trader, like I try to be, invests in products that go in high demand. The more people want it, the more the price goes up.

And if there's going to be a shortage of the hot commodity, the price soars. Well this is one I missed.

Of all things, the product that is so hot that people are actually panic buying, is potato chips in Japan.

The problem is, they had a bad potato crop. This has caused a shortage of chips.

With the crunch on, no pun intended, shelves are mostly bare in the chip isles. The price is going nuts, one pizza-flavored potato chip has been selling for $12 a bag.
