Weekend Wanderings In Sioux Falls With My Family
One of the hardest things I've ever done is move away from my family. I'm extremely close to them, so it's tough to see celebrations and get-togethers over 500 miles away via FaceTime. But one of the best things about living so far from my family is that it gives them an excuse to travel!
My mom is an eighth-grade teacher and teaches math for all the junior high students. My sister, Katie is currently preparing to leave for the Univerisity of Illinois where she will study veterinary medicine. They're extremely busy people, so having them visit always means a lot.
We have been having a blast so far, especially since the Sioux Empire Fair is in town! The three of us went to one of the most anticipated concerts on Friday night at the fair. It was an amazing show.
My mom was singing the entire concert! I only say this because my mom doesn't know a lot of the words to most songs Katie and I play. So you know she's having a great time when she's singing at the top of her lungs!
Saturday until Sunday we just spent time together cooking and watching our favorite show, "Law and Order: SVU." This may seem "boring" to some people, but having all of us together watching this show doesn't happen too often. It brings us together even when we are far apart. Plus, it doesn't hurt to have someone else cook for you (haha).
I still have a few activities planned before they leave, like enjoying some rides and more music at the fair along with visiting the downtown area. If you see my mom and sister around, don't be afraid to say hi!
