In a video posted on the City of Watertown's Facebook page, officials shared the heart-warming moment when young Elliot Moffat recited the Pledge of Allegiance. In a room of adults, Elliot stood tall and proud as he delivered the powerful words of our nation's vow.

Mayor Ried Holien met Elliot a short while ago, and during that meeting, Elliot expressed his interest in the city to Mayor Holien. It gave him the idea to invite Elliot to a City Council meeting for his first official city duty: Saying the Pledge of Allegiance.

Elliot's confidence was shining like a bright star. It showed the residents of Watertown that despite all the dark moments in life, there is still hope.

Elliot didn’t just recite words, he reminded us what they mean: unity, respect, and love of country.
Moments like this renew our faith in the next generation. Our future is in good hands when young people like Elliot are stepping forward with pride, courage, and character.
