Ugh What a Jerk! Sioux Falls Sculpture ‘Tornado’ Vandalized
The SculptureWalk in Sioux Falls is a cherished treasure in the downtown area, and unfortunately, there is always a heartless criminal who tries to ruin traditions.
Sadly, officials with the SculptureWalk confirmed that one of the sculptures in this year's show has been vandalized in a heartbreaking Facebook post.

The sculpture called "Tornado" by Ohio artist Gedion Nyanhongo is broken. This artwork was located near the Blarney Stone Pub in Downtown Sioux Falls.
I know we can't control what people do, but destroying someone's hard work is cruel and disappointing. This terrible crime is one reason why protecting public art throughout the Sioux Falls area is so important.
The good news? Dakota News Now is reporting that a suspect has been arrested for vandalism. But that doesn't mean people aren't frustrated about this senseless crime.
What the heck is the matter with people!!!!
This is concerning...
Awful. What is wrong with people that do this?
So sad and angering. Someone’s hard working beautiful art just was purposely pushed over in broad daylight
I hope who ever did this gets caught and has to pay for this distruction of property!
Why must people do this? Good grief.
This year's SculptureWalk featured 80 sculptures lining downtown Sioux Falls streets from the Eastbank, Cherapa area, Uptown, the Steel District, and up and down Phillips Avenue. Seven sculptures are also on display in the Cathedral Historic District along North Duluth Avenue between 10th and 6th Streets.
Let's hope this will be the last sculpture to be harmed this year.
