Two Towns in Minnesota Make “Best Small Cities in U.S.” List
Sometimes the best things come in small sizes and that's certainly true when it comes to WalletHub's latest list of the "Best Small Cities in the U.S.".
It's no secret that some of the small cities in the entire country are found in the Land of Ten Thousand Lakes and Wallethub recently placed two of them near the very top of its list.
The rankings were based on a number of key factors, including education, health, quality of life, local economy, affordability, and safety.
The top 5 small cities in the U.S., according to Wallethub are as follows:
- Carmel, Indiana
- Lexington, Massachusetts
- Brentwood, Tennessee
- Westfield, Indiana
- Fishers, Indiana
As you can see, Indiana comes out looking pretty good on this list. And while Minnesota didn't have any cities crack the very top, two of them made it into the top 20, with both located in the Twin Cities Metropolitan area.
#37 Prior Lake, Minnesota
Prior Lake ranked higher on Wallethub's list than any other small city in the state. The vibrant and growing city received high scores in virtually every category, including affordability and safety. Its overall score was 67.15.
#45 Savage, Minnesota
This southwest Twin Cities suburb has seen a huge increase in population in recent decades, which means the cat is out of the bag. People are beginning to realize just how special of a place the city of Savage really is. It received high scores in affordability and safety and had an overall rating of 66.85.
