PINE RIDGE, S.D. (AP) - The Oglala Sioux Tribe has revoked the building lease for the only grocery store on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation because of continued complaints about spoiled food.

Hi-Way 20 has operated the store for more than a quarter century. The company has been given until Aug. 4 to vacate the tribally owned building, though Tribal Economic Development Director Lyle Jack tells KELO-TV (http://bit.ly/17ToCQk ) that he wouldn't be surprised if the matter ends up in the courts.

The Sioux Nation Shopping Center was shut down for a week a year ago after complaints about outdated meat. Hi-Way 20 attorney Terry Pechota says the problems were fixed, and there haven't been any new problems. He says he's optimistic that the company and the tribe can reach an agreement.
