Strangers Save Sick South Dakota Puppy Left Alone On The Road
Sometimes, as a pet owner, you have to make difficult decisions. One South Dakota animal organization is reminding us that there are options to help. But each choice has consequences.
Recently, for the Oglala Pet Project in western South Dakota, there was a sick puppy that was found outside all alone. Despite the odds stacked against him, this puppy will have a chance to survive.

In a heartbreaking Facebook post, a puppy was left alone and was suffering from mange, some worms in his belly, and now he's battling the Parvo Virus. But two strangers saved this little guy's life.
Staff with the Oglala Pet Project took him in. No questions asked. They even gave him a name, Gatsby.
Most people will turn their head. Most people would drive by. But it just took 2 employees to care. One to reach out to us and one to overnight him until we could meet them. We are so thankful to these two ladies who made a difference for this little guy.
The quick thinking of the ladies who saved his life made a huge difference. It also helped that our winter in South Dakota has been mild. It's part of the reason why he is still alive. People are calling these ladies heroes.
I can't even begin to understand how people grew up to let this happen.
Poor little puppy thank you for rescuing him people can be so cruel to animals
Poor baby, glad he is in good hands now.
How can anyone treat fur babies like this… so glad he’s found the care he needs
The Oglala Pet Project is a 100% volunteer-based organization located in Kyle, South Dakota, on the Pine Ridge Reservation.
I hope karma finds whoever did this. No animal should have to suffer like this sweet angel.
Thanks to the Oglala Pet Project for taking care of Gatsby!
