The Latest on the Crops

Sioux Falls, S.D. (AP)  Hot weather and a lack of rainfall over the past week have hurt the quality of crops in South Dakota.

The agriculture department says in its weekly crop and weather report that temperatures reached into the 90s and even surpassed 100 in some areas.  The report says drought conditions have not improved anywhere in the state.

Topsoil moisture supplies are rated 91 percent short or very short, and subsoil moisture is 90 percent in those categories.
