The shooting that took place over the weekend in Sioux Falls is just another another in a series of homicides that has plagued the city so far in 2024.

Police still search for answers in a shooting that left one man dead and three others wounded on Sunday in Dunham Park on Sioux Falls westside.

The violent crime cases do not appear to be related.

Responding officers found six people who had been injured by gunfire.

Two officers found the woman and one deployed a pepper ball round. The second officer then fired their department-issued firearm.

The child was rushed to a nearby hospital, but later died. Officers at the scene were investigating the circumstances surrounding the child's death when they encountered a man with a gun.

Initial reports indicated there were as many as seven victims.

Police administered aid to the man and he was taken to a hospital where he later died.

A 17-year-old Sioux Falls girl was struck by a bullet fired at a home in central Sioux Falls early Sunday morning.

Police responded to the report of a vehicle displaying stolen license plates in a Target parking lot.
