With the hustle and bustle of the city whizzing by on the roadways over head, it was amazingly soothing to stop and linger on the banks of the Big Sioux River.
On my way to work this morning there was a flashing yellow light from the inside of the pedestrian part of the bridge over the Big Sioux River on Cliff Avenue.
They’re doing their part to improve water quality in the Big Sioux River. A group of salon owners and Audubon Dakota are teaming up for an event on Friday.
An emphasis toward moving the Big Sioux River away from impaired status is starting to show progress. The waterway and its tributaries are becoming cleaner.
South Dakota DOT is working on the bridge over the Big Sioux on highway 115. Kayakers, canoeists, swimmers and boaters are encouraged to avoid the area.
