Spring is the time for romance! Feeling twitterpated, but lacking ideas on what to go out and do with your SO? Check out these fun local spring date ideas!

1. Thunder Road

With so many activities to choose from, this is guaranteed to spice up your spring nights. A few of the activities you can engage in at Thunder Road are: Go-Karts, Mini Golf, Laser Tag, Laser Maze, Bumper Boats, and so much more. Right here in town, there is minimal travel needed to get to this fun nook.

2. Downtown Sculpture Walk

It’s time to stretch out those winter legs, and what is better than stretching out your legs while supporting local businesses? Downtown is full of hidden gems and the streets are filled with Sculptures and art to check out. From Zandbroz to Half Baked, there is something for everyone.

3. Great Plains Zoo

With the welcoming spring weather, all the animals are more active. This is the perfect time to check out the local zoo. With the zoo expanding, there is now even more to see. Take the afternoon to walk through this perfect sized zoo and enjoy the big cats.

4. Sertoma Butterfly House & Marine Cove

This place has a lot to offer! Check out the free roaming butterflies or the marine life. This wonderful place also offers Yoga, Tai Chi, Sound Healing, Meditation, and they even have wine nights! The have a whole event calendar, turning one trip into multiple trips!

5. Falls Park

This is a local hot spot, and for a good reason. Grab a basket and have a picnic near the scenic roaring waters. Walk around the falls or check out the observation tower. Don’t feel like packing a lunch? No problem, you can also stop by the Overlook Café!

Sioux Falls has a few local events that go on during the spring time that are a must to visit!

1. The new Denny Stanford Premier Center

The premier center sure has been bringing in some big names to this small city. Luke Bryan (May 9th), Eagles (June 4th), Ed Sheeran (June 10th), Kenny Chesney (June 18th), and that is just for the Spring Time!

2. Rib Fest

This is a local favorite for any meat lover. Come May 28th-31st and get down and dirty with some good BBQ cooking and a cold one. Have a sweet tooth? No worries, you can get a deep fried Twinkie! Rib Fest also offers live music, amazing smells, and the atmosphere can’t be beat!

3. Gay Pride

Show your support for the community and the local Center of Equality here in Sioux Falls. With multiple vendors, activities, and fair food this is one festive way to spend the day in the park! This event will take place June 20th, 2015 at Terrace Park. When you stop by, make sure to check out the Annabelles/Olivias booth on the last day of spring! (yep, summer official starts June 21st!)
