Our farmers are doing a great job out there getting the harvest work done. The tractors and combines have been going around the clock covering ground as the weather cooperates.

Harvest progress is looking very good at this point. The actual readings are just out from the U.S. Department of Agriculture in the latest crop report.

You will see that winter wheat planting is complete. It is also over 90 percent emerged and largely rated well.

As far as harvesting is concerned, soybeans are near done and about one-third of the corn is in the bin.

About half of the sunflower and sorghum crops are harvested. Farmers in our neighboring state of North Dakota are keeping pace with us with soybeans and corn. Same for Minnesota and Nebraska.
