Sioux Falls Police Say It’s ‘Legal to Dress Like a Clown’
With Halloween around the corner, you may be looking for different costume options right about now?
Should you choose, the Sioux Falls police have given you their permission to dress up as a clown this year.
Police say there is no city law barring people from dressing up in clown costumes or as other circus performers.
With that said, I don't know if you want to be the bozo that does dress up as one, given the current creepy clown phenomenon that seems to be sweeping the nation.
Allegedly, a clown was spotted in the vicinity of the 5200 block of West 26th Street in Sioux Falls, around 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday (October 5). That according to Sam Clemons with the Sioux Falls Police Department.
Once called, police were unable to confirm the clown sighting. But, they do ask citizens to please keep calling 911 or the non-emergency number should they ever see something suspicious.
Clemons said, "We get calls for all kinds of random stuff and we'd rather come and check it out and make sure everything's OK."
Creepy clown sightings have now been reported in 14 states since August 1, 2016.
