The next time you have a wedding or any event around the Sioux Empire, check out this stylish Sioux Falls salon that just reopened its doors. It's strictly for blowouts: No cuts or color.

The Drybar salon made its big Sioux Falls return last week.  They're now open and under the new ownership of local business owner Kim Hoffman-Perez.

What is the Drybar? Never heard of it!

According to its website, Drybar embraces looking good and feeling good about yourself. This Californian-based salon motivates people to have confidence in their hair and life. At Drybar, the objective is to "focus on one thing and be the best at it. For us, that’s blowouts. With that purpose in mind, we are focused on giving each and every client the premier blowout experience while providing professional-quality products and tools to better help our clients achieve and maintain the perfect blowout at home."

Whatever happened to Drybar when it first opened in Sioux Falls?

I remember when the shop opened in September of 2023, Sioux Falls was really excited about this unique studio. Suddenly, the Drybar locations in Sioux Falls and Rapid City announced they were closing their doors. This shocking announcement came without warning in April of 2024. That's less than a year after opening.

In the original story, officials with Sioux Falls Drybar shared a heartbreaking Facebook post explaining to their loyal customers that the sudden closure is due to "unforeseen circumstances." Fast forward to a happier Facebook message earlier this summer, Sioux Falls Drybar announced its comeback and employment opportunities under new ownership.

After a few "teases" and "straightening" all the details, Drybar officially opened on Friday, September 12th.

Ten chairs are inside the salon with "Bar Flies" waiting to give you the Drybar Signature Styles like "The Cosmo," "The Manhattan," or "The Old Fashioned."

Kim Hoffman-Perez recently told me her goal is to bring new life to the Sioux Falls Drybar. Just like her Waxing The City and Sun Tan City storefronts across the Sioux Empire, she wants her customers at Drybar to look and feel their best.

9 Sioux Falls Streets Visitors Have A Hard Time Pronouncing

If you are visiting or new to Sioux Falls and trying to find your way around, chances are you really don't need to pronounce street names correctly. All you have to do is enter your destination into Google Maps and your phone will show you the way.

But what if you are trying to tell someone where your cool friend or family member lives in our fine city? Some of our streets and avenues have tricky spellings that may throw visitors for a loop when trying to sound them out.

No one is going to mess up on the big thoroughfares like Minnesota Avenue, Western Avenue, or Louise Avenue but what about these?
