SPENCER, S.D. (AP) - A South Dakota man distracted by his cellphone crashed into a school bus Wednesday morning, sending four students to a hospital for injuries.

Twenty-three-year-old Arlo North of Howard told The Daily Republic that he was looking down to see if his phone was on when he rear-ended the bus shortly before 8 a.m. Wednesday morning near Spencer.

At least four students on the Hanson School District bus were sent to a local hospital for injuries. Two of the students have been treated and released. About 20 students were on the bus at the time of the crash.

This is the third crash involving a school bus in the Mitchell area since the start of the school year 28 days ago.
