Rocco Baldelli Named MLB American League Manager of the Year

For the eighth time in Major League Baseball history, a rookie manager has been named Manager of the Year.

Minnesota Twins skipper Rocco Baldelli has been named as the 2019 American League Manager of the Year. Baldelli led the Twins to a 101-61 overall record and an American League Central title. The division title was the first for the franchise since the 2010 season. The Twins powered its way through the season and set a new team record for home runs in a single season with 307.

His first year as manager saw the Twins improve its record by 23 games this season. Baldelli becomes the seventh rookie manager in MLB history to win 100 or more games in their first season according to MLB.com.
