New Mobile Dental Trucks Being Manufactured for South Dakota
PIERRE, S.D. (AP) — Delta Dental of South Dakota is ordering two new mobile dental trucks to continue serving kids across the state as part of the non-profit company's mobile program.
KCCR radio reports that the trucks will replace two existing older dental trucks, and they're expected to arrive late this fall. Each will be 40 feet long with two dental rooms to treat patients. They're being custom built by Farber Specialty Vehicles of Reynoldsburg, Ohio.
Delta Dental's mobile program provides oral health care to underserved children. The mobile program trucks have served kids in 78 communities throughout South Dakota and provided more than $14.8 million in dental care since the program began in 2004. The trucks provide preventive and restorative care across South Dakota including the state's Native American reservations.
