Mountain Lion Hunting Season To Open In South Dakota
One of the nice things of living in South Dakota, is being able to enjoy the great outdoors. People come from all over the world to get a taste of it, we live it everyday.
Hunting, fishing, camping or whatever, we've got an abundance of it. Especially the hunting.
We are known for our pheasants. Waterfowl is also a major part of the bird hunt.
For big game, one thinks of deer. But how about mountain lions?
The mountain lion hunting season is set to open within the Black Hills Fire Protection District in South Dakota.
Unlimited licenses for the season can be obtained on the state Game, Fish and Parks website. All harvested lions must be inspected within 24 hours.
The season begins Friday and will conclude on March 31, unless the harvest limit of 75 total mountain lions, or 50 female lions, is reached prior to that date.
The mountain lion season outside of the Black Hills district runs year-round.
