A mountain lion was euthanized on Wednesday after it attacked and killed a dog near Spearfish, SD in the Black Hills.

Hunters in South Dakota have reported 30 mountain lion killings during the ongoing hunting season in the Black Hills Fire Protection District.

The season will conclude on March 31, unless the harvest limit of 75 total mountain lions, or 50 female lions, is reached before that date.

Hunters have killed 33 mountain lions so far during the hunting season in the Black Hills Fire Protection District.
