It's been a couple weeks since Country Star Mindy McCready took her own life after a successful music career, but an extremely troubled personal life.

According to the Associated Press, her friends in the music industry paid homage to the star Wednesday.

(AP) - A couple of weeks ago, her friends and family got the chance to say goodbye to Mindy McCready. And yesterday, it was a time for her friends in the music industry to do the same.

About 200 people were on hand for the memorial to the singer, who committed suicide last month. She was 37 - and through her time in the spotlight struggled with drug and booze addiction and a series of bad relationships.

An old friend of McCready's - Lorrie Morgan - noted that while McCready "achieved many of her dreams" by obtaining a measure of fame and getting number-one hits, "we all know fame and fortune do not ensure happiness."

The Nashville memorial comes two weeks after her funeral. That was held at her hometown of Fort Myers, Florida.
