There are certain song's in the history of country music that are attached to one name, and one name only.  They are so identified with an artist that no one else would dare do them.  We have a name for a song like that.

We call it 'A Signature Song'.  Some examples?

  • 'Kiss An Angel Good Morning'.  Pride.
  • 'Okie From Muskogee'.   Haggard.
  • 'Coal Miner's Daughter'.  Lynn.
  • 'Stand By Your Man'.  Wynette.

And of course, 'Hello Darlin'.  Twitty.

No one could do 'Hello Darlin' except the legendary Conway Twitty.  While the Hall of Famer had well over forty #1 hit's, you can bet not a concert went by that Conway didn't sing (and probably end the show with) 'Hello Darlin'.

Yep, 'Hello Darlin' means, in a word, Twitty.  And so it is in this video.

It's Twitty, alright.  But not Conway.  Here, his son Michael sing's his Dad's signature classic.  Give it a listen and see what you think.
