Lynyrd Skynyrd Concert Still On at South Dakota State Fair
Despite a heart attack and a cancelled concert at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, the legendary Lynrd Skynrd has no plans to cancel their concert at the South Dakota State Fair.
The cancelled show at the Buffalo Chip in Sturgis triggered rumors last week that lead vocalist Johnny Van Zandt had suffered a heart attack, according to Performance Radio.
In fact, the medical issue involved original Skynyrd member Gary Rossington, who underwent a procedure on August 4th to address blockages in his arteries. According to the band’s website, they will resume their tour immediately.
South Dakota State Fair representative Candi Briley has been in contact with Lynyrd Skynyrd’s management regarding the show September 2nd.
Other concerts at the fair include, Big & Rich, Corbin Easton, Justin Moore and Ned LeDoux.
