(AP) - Lee Ann Womack is finally making the music she wants to make. Womack's new album is a collection of country covers called "The Way I'm Livin'."

Womack says for years, she was pressured to produce hits, but once she fulfilled her contract with MCA Nashville, she let out a sigh of relief. She says she had all kinds of music she wanted to make, including with collaborators like roots musician Buddy Miller, but didn't feel she could do that until now.

Womack says she wanted to create the kind of music she heard on country radio growing up. She put a lot of what she calls "hardcore country music" into the record.

Here's the title cut from Lee Ann's new album.
