Vikings Are Set To Head Back Overseas For A ‘Home’ Game In 2024
The Minnesota Vikings are heading back to Europe in 2024 to play a 'home' game. This is starting to become a regular thing for the purple and gold as fans of the Vikings seem to travel well, and the team also has seen interest internationally over the years.
The team made the announcement this morning, and they also revealed where in Europe the team will play in 2024.
London bound! The #Vikings have been designated to host a regular season game at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium during the 2024 season.
One of the details that wasn't revealed was the date on which the team would be playing in London England. The other detail is who the Vikings will be playing overseas, but that won't be revealed until later this year.
The NFL has been sending teams to London since 2007, according to DAZN "Since 2007, the NFL has slowly been making London its second home. Starting off with just one game at Wembley Stadium, the popularity of the sport within the UK has grown and this has led to more matches being staged on British shores."
The Vikings played in London in 2013, 2017, and 2022.
Believe it or not the Vikings played in London back in 1983, in a game called the 'Global Cup' against the St. Louis Cardinals in a preseason game. That game was played at Wembley Stadium and the Vikings won 28-10.
Other teams that were revealed to be traveling to Europe in 2024 according to the Minnesota Vikings official team website are: the Bears and Jaguars. The Panthers are expected to play in Germany in 2024 too.
