
Temporary Traffic Switches Coming to Interstate 90 in South Dakota
Drivers on Interstate 90 in South Dakota are about to encounter of new temporary lane configurations.
Beginning Monday (April 28), work is scheduled to begin on the I-90 eastbound and westbound structures over Riverside Road (Exit 325) and Wolf Creek (one mile east of Exit 350).
Prior to the bridge repairs, initial work will require lane closures for shoulder preparation in both directions.
Bridge repair work will consist of approach slab replacement, bridge deck chip seals, and guardrail updates in the eastbound and westbound lanes on I-90. Lane closures will be utilized for traffic control to complete the repair work.
The $6.3 million project is expected to be completed in October.

Also Monday, a two-way traffic configuration will be placed on the eastbound lanes at Exit 357, near Bridgewater/Canova.
This two-way traffic configuration will allow crews to reconstruct the westbound lanes. The configuration is anticipated to be in place until June 24.
Once work is complete, another two-way traffic configuration will be placed on the westbound lanes to allow for reconstruction of the eastbound lanes.
This project will include spot grading, new concrete pavement, pipe replacement, and box culvert construction.
The $11.1 million project is expected to be completed in June of 2026.
