It's been a Minnesota staple since the 1890s but does the rest of the U.S. think it's any good? That's the question a recent beer review channel set out to find an answer to and what they had to say might surprise you.

According to its own website, Grain Belt beer wasn't always a Minnesota mainstay, but those who first created it, definitely knew who they were making it for.

The first Grain Belt product was introduced to reference the strong farming community and plentiful agricultural crop that came from the land. Consumers loved it and the name stuck, we’ve grown quite fond of it ourselves.

Tree House Brewing Company has a popular following in its own right. In fact, they're quite active on social media, reviewing beers from all over the United States. This past week, Nate, from Tree House took a sip of Grain Belt for the first time. Beforehand, he mentioned it had been one of his most requested beers to try.

The video is well worth a watch, especially if you're a fan of Grain Belt, as it gives a good bit of history into the company, with some humorous Minnesota stereotypes blended in.

These reviews hold a lot of weight, as Tree House has a large presence on its social media platforms. So, what did Nate have to say about Grain Belt? Take a look at the video below.

So, does Grain Belt get a passing grade? You Betcha!

Not surprisingly, Nate mentions that it most definitely has a "grainy" smell to it, with a hint of fruit. After taking his sip, he also says it has a "crackery, biscuity, apple" taste to it. He also makes a point to say that it tastes much different than Hamm's, another beer born in Minnesota and one of Grain Belt's biggest competitors.
