Interstate travelers in Sioux Falls will have to find an alternate route for a ten-hour stretch in the upcoming days.
Beginning Thursday (July 6), Interstate 229, just south of the Interstate 90/229 interchange will be closed from 8:00 PM Thursday to 6:00 AM Friday (July 7).

During that time, construction crews will begin removing temporary forms used to pour the deck for the new 60th Street North Bridge which spans I-229.
The I-229 closure will stretch from the I-90 interchange to Benson Road in both directions.
A detour route will be in place. At this point, only one nighttime closure of I-229 is planned.
