Share Your South Dakota Story At Upcoming America 250 Tour Stops
No matter how long you've called South Dakota home, you've got a story about the state that's near and dear to your heart.
Now is a great time to share it with the rest of the country.
As the United States continues to celebrate its 250th anniversary, the America 250 South Dakota Commission is welcoming America250’s nationwide mobile storytelling tour, Our American Story, to Sioux Falls this month in search of South Dakota stories to tell.
The tour will stop at the Cracker Barrel restaurant (2409 South Shirley Avenue) on September 18th from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM and the Falls Park Farmers Market (East Falls Park Drive & North 2nd Avenue) on September 19th from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
Launched nationally on the National Mall, Our American Story is an oral and visual history initiative designed to create the largest collection of personal American narratives in U.S. history. The cross-country tour invites people from every background to share their lived experiences, family histories, and perspectives on American life.

The Commission encourages South Dakotans to consider who they believe can best share The Mount Rushmore State's perspective.
Selected recordings from the tour will be preserved at the Library of Congress and shared across digital and broadcast media platforms to highlight themes of identity, service, community, and personal legacy
