Move over burgers, you're about to get some company in a Sioux Falls food competition.

Just days after the 2026 Downtown Burger Battle ends, another culinary quest begins, to find the best hotdish in South Dakota's largest city.

WoodGrain Brewing at 9th Street and Phillips Avenue is launching a hot dish competition where you can submit your favorite recipe and go head-to-head against other Sioux Falls casserole creators in a month-long competition.

Beginning February 7th and running every Saturday throughout the month, four hot dishes will battle each week for the right to move on to the final cook-off, March 7th.

Before you head to your test kitchen to get started, there are a few rules to keep in mind:

  • $10 entry fee
  • Half pans for entries will be provided by WoodGrain
  • Limit of one dish per competitor
  • The hot dish creator must be present during judging

Prizes will be awarded to the top three creations:

  • 1st Place: $50 WoodGrain Gift Card
  • 2nd Place: WoodGrain Crowler (winner's choice)
  • 3rd Place: WoodGrain Drink Token
