See One of Your Favorite Christmas Movies Free in Sioux Falls
All this month, the State Theatre in downtown Sioux Falls is the place to be to get your fix of holiday movies on the big screen.
The iconic venue is screening more than a dozen Christmas cinema gems between now and December 21.
But there's only one chance to catch one of your favorites absolutely free,
AARP South Dakota is holding a special one-time screening of Home Alone, as part of its 'Monday Matinee' series.
This 1990 film stars Macaulay Culkin as eight-year-old Kevin McCallister who is accidentally left behind when his family departs to vacation in Europe.
Much of the plot centers around Kevin matching wits with a pair of burglars (played by Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern).
The movie was a box office smash, earning $476.7 million, against a production budget of $18 million.
Home Alone was so successful, it spawned five sequels:
- Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992)
- Home Alone 3 (1997)
- Home Alone 4 (2002)
- Home Alone: The Holiday Heist (2012)
- Home Sweet Home Alone (2021)
The Showtime for Home Alone in Sioux Falls is 2:00 PM, Monday, December 16.
The Sioux Falls screening is open to AARP members and non-members alike. Tickets are free but must be reserved in advance.
