The Language Of Roses: Significance Of Colors Beyond Red On Valentine’s Day
It's Valentine's week - and that means showing your love and appreciation to those around you, especially ones you love. Some of the more popular gifts are chocolates, jewelry, a card, candles, or a romantic dinner.
But don't forget the flowers. You can go with a nice assortment from a florist with lots of variety but the most popular flower on Valentine's Day is the rose. It's estimated that 250 million roses are produced every year for Valentine's Day and most of them are red, but not all of them.
In fact, each different color of rose has a unique meaning. So, if your Valentine gets you roses this year and you're wondering what it means, the color may tell you.
Red: Deep love
Pink: Admiration
White: Purity
Yellow: Friendship
Orange: Enthusiasm
Purple: Royalty and mystery
Lavender: Falling in love at first sight.
Black: Symbolizes the end of an era (probably not the best one to give your spouse)
A treasure hunt is also a fun tradition. It can include clues such as:
Find a stuffed animal
Find something red
Find something heart-shaped
Find a ring
Find something new in your undies drawer
What's under your pillow?
Or simply have the clues lead to where you first met!
