The ever-changing landscape of how to negotiate the area of an ongoing road construction project in Sioux Falls is about to enter a new phase.
Beginning Monday (October 9), lane closures will go into effect on Interstate 229 at Western Avenue. The lane closures will be in place between the hours of 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM through Wednesday (October 11).
The outside lanes in each direction will close first, followed by the inside lanes.
The closures will allow crews to install pedestrian railings on the Western Avenue bridge.
The entire $2.6 million project is expected to be finished by November.
