Two of America’s Best Small Cities Are in South Dakota
Just to be clear, in my opinion, there are a lot of great small cities in our state from border to border. But I wasn't asked for my thoughts on this subject by the people at Wallet Hub when they were putting this report together.
In any case, it is nice to have at least two of our smaller cities recognized in this recent study.
Aberdeen and Rapid City were chosen as two of America's best small cities.
How did Wallet Hub come up with its extensive list of really great small cities? They examined each city in four main categories, 1) Affordability, 2) Economic Health, 3) Education & Health, 4) Quality of Life, and 5) Safety.
Within those categories, they looked at numerous things like - - housing costs, homeownership rates, cost of living, population and job growth, unemployment and foreclosure rates, school system quality, access to healthy foods, commute times, crime and property rates, attractions, number of restaurants, museums, and movie theaters - -and much more.
When they crunched all those statistics, Aberdeen and Rapid City both had pretty good showings and to see the complete study, check out Wallet Hub.
