19-Year-Old Sioux Empire Woman Starts Online Pet Store for Dogs

Your four-legged fur buddy now has a new online pet store designed just for them here in the Sioux Empire.

19-year-old college student, Madison Leasure of Hartford recently launched an online pet store that caters to dogs.

Her motto is "Spoiled Puppies Shop Here."

The new online store is called Mav's Market, named after Leasure's soul dog "Mav."

Leasure told Dakota News Now, she was inspired to start her business after a family visit to Texas this past winter. While in Texas she attended a vendor show and had a chance to meet a group of ladies just like her, that inspired her to start up her own online business.

Dakota News Now reports, Leasure admits the new business has been challenging, but rewarding at the same time. Her passion for dogs has made it all worthwhile.

That's why she vows not to be your typical pet store. Leasure always looks for the nutritional value in every edible product she sells, double-checking the ingredients. And when it comes to dog toys, she only carries ones that don’t include stuffing.

Her 3-year-old Australian Sheppard, Maverick plays a huge role in her business. He serves as a taste, and toy tester of sorts. Leasure solicits the help of Maverick to help determine what products to sell. According to Leasure, if Maverick and her other dogs don't like them, they don't make the cut.

Leasure told Dakota News Now, that her long-term goal is to have a brick-and-mortar store up and running in Hartford by May of 2025.
