The first gold discovery in Minnesota was back in 1852.

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resource states that they have discovered 6 major areas which have gold deposits that include...

According to Mindat.org "Gold has been found in the Zumbro River near Zumbro Falls, Wabasha County to Dodge County and perhaps as far as the confluence with the Mississippi River."

The DNR says that overall there are almost 62 areas in Minnesota where you could expect to find gold.
